What is the purpose of this consultation? 

The Covid-19 pandemic response in Argyll and Bute was delivered by a combination of the public sector and community groups.  The response was put in place rapidly and we are now looking at how we move forward.   This consultation follows discussions with local community reponse groups around Strengthening our Communities and asks you to add to what they have told us. Your input will help us shape how we move forward.

How long will it be open?

The consultation will open on the 7th October and close on the 21st October.

Why such a short timeframe?

The current situation is continually evolving and it is important for us to get your feedback to help shape things for the short term as well as longer term planning.

Can anyone comment on the site?

Anyone can read the comments on the site, however, in order to add your own thoughts, you need to register.

Navigating the site

Clicking the council logo at the top of the page will take you back to the first page that you landed on.  Clicking on “have your say” will take you to a list of the questions in text form, and you can click on any of them to enter the discussion.

How do I register?

Click on “Register” at the top right hand corner of the page.  You will be asked to enter a user name – this is the name that will appear beside any comments you make on the site.  It doesn’t have to be your real name.

Enter your email address and a password.  The registration process will send a link to your email account.  You will have to open that email and click on that link to complete your registration.

You can log into your account at any time to change your contact details.

Why do I need to register?

When you register, you set up a user name.  This does not have to be your real name.  Having a user name set up means that comments will be assigned to a particular user.

If we have to remove a comment from the site because it breaches our terms of use, we will contact you to let you know, using the email address provided.

What do I do if I have any problems registering?

Doesn’t a digital consultation exclude those who aren’t online?

We understand that digital consultations do not suit everyone.  No single consultation method is completely inclusive.  At the moment, holding face to face consultation events is not an option, so we are running an online consultation.  However, a paper version is available for anyone that wishes one. This can be requested by emailing or calling 01436 658881.  Paper forms must be completed and returned by 26th October.

How will my information be stored?

Information on how your data will be stored can be found in our privacy policy.

How will my comments shape future plans?

The results of this consultation will be fed in through the Council’s Building Back Better: Strengthening Communities work stream.  They will be taken in to consideration when planning how we move things forward, both as part of any future outbreak planning, and as part of our wider approach to looking at how we strengthen our communities following this.

We will store your contact information for a year, and will send you an update on what happens as a result of what communities tell us.

The results of the consultation will also be made available to the local community response groups who provided local Covid-19 responses.
