Summary

Pitch Drainage Works & Erection of Fence

Description

Kilmory & Dunadd Camanachd have male, female, youth and primary shinty teams with over 80 players across the areas.

As part of our 5 year development plan we have two specific areas for 25/26 that we want to achieve specifically these are ditch coverage works and erection of a safety fence.  These could be two specific projects or joined into one.  We want to make pitch improvements to bring our pitch up to a better standard for all our players and supporters.

The ditch work involves backfilling the ditches with drainage stones and earth and levelling the ground area.  This will ensure that the park continues to be playable in periods of wet weather and creates a tidier and more presentable pitch area.  It will also reduce the area where the ball can be lost and remove an obstacle where players/supporters could fall.

Ditch Work - 1920 + VAT

The erecting of fencing involves the playing field being fenced off beside sidelines and byelines for 50m metres by 8 metres high.  The fencing is important for several practical and health and safety related reasons including stopping the ball from travelling at high speed into neighbouring areas or spectators and players running into spectators on the edge of the fields.  It also stops frequent interruptions to either retrieving or finding alternative balls.  It is also an important requirement in order to allow the park to host cup competitions like the Bullough Cup which has been in played since 1906 and Kilmory enter each year.

Erection of Fence - upwards of 28,000
