Our Community (the Trust, Community Council, Church and other Community Groups and individual volunteers) has worked hard to produce a Local Place Plan - identifying improvement areas under 6 headings: Community Life; Environment; Population and Homes, Getting About; Visitors; and Jobs and Business. The plan outlines both the activities required and the benefits those will deliver for our small community, and the large number of visitors (70k+) we have passing through each year. Activities within the plan focus on each of the above headings, and taken together will significantly contribute to the economic sustainability, and service provision for our community.
We now need to move to delivery of the plan - and have started to make progress in some areas. But as the plan itself indicates - we are a small community with limited people and financial resources (population around 850 with a mixed age/income demographic). So we will need the support of a Development Officer to move things forward at a decent pace. The Development Officer will help us prioritise projects within the Place Plan, develop and support delivery of individual project plans, identify and pursue funding opportunities, working throughout with the community and key stakeholders. We are looking tor funding from a variety of sources towards employing a Development Officer on a 2 year contract - and are asking yourselves for a contribution of £25,000 towards a total project cost of £82,600
