Proposal code: AP-2025-11-165

Building a new website to digitise our toy library, improving access, efficiency, and sustainability for families, volunteers, and community partners.

Estimated Price

8000

We aim to modernise and future-proof our community-led Toy Library by creating a new website with integrated digital systems. This will include a user-friendly click-and-collect platform to make toy hire more accessible for families, including those in rural areas; a secure membership management system for online joining and renewals; and an e-commerce section selling pre-loved toys and sustainable play kits to support environmental goals and generate income.

The project will also include digital training for staff, volunteers, and committee members to build confidence in using new systems such as WordPress, e-commerce, and branding tools. Delivered by our team with web developers and volunteer input, the new platform will strengthen collaboration with NHS and third-sector partners, acting as a trusted gateway to family support services.

Our Toy Library is a vital community hub, but many systems remain paper-based, creating barriers for families and volunteers. A modern website will make our services easier to access, reduce administrative workloads, and ensure continuity if key volunteers leave.

This project will bring wide-ranging benefits: families will gain easier access to affordable play resources and local support, staff and volunteers will develop digital skills and efficiency, and the wider community will benefit from a sustainable, environmentally conscious hub promoting connection and learning through play.

The project will run for 6–9 months, covering website design, testing, training, and launch — creating a lasting digital foundation for our Toy Library’s future.
