Proposal code: AP-2025-10-164

As part of our Net Zero strategy, MACPool Activity Hub plans to replace the roof, structural pillars and solar panels above the pool hall to improve energy efficiency and heat retention.

Estimated Price

250000

We aim to replace the existing roof and solar paels over the pool hall at MACPool Activity Hub to make the building more energy efficient, reduce heat loss, and lower operational costs. The new roof will improve insulation, white updated solar panels will increase renewable energy generation and support our wider Net Zero strategy.

MACPool Activity Hub will employ the help of structural engineers, who will survey the roof and pillars, infroming us of their condition. With that information, we will replace the current rood structure with modern, thermally efficient materials to improve insulation and reduce heat loss. Working with qualified contractors tto ensure all works meet environmental and building standards, the organisation will also aim to replace the outdated poly solar panles and install new, high performance tier 1 mono solar panels to yield higher energy generation.

We will monitor and evaluate the success of the project through our energy consumption, cost savings and carbon emissions measured usug annual energy reports. After the scheduled works are implemented, we will gain a completion report fro the contractors, confirming the quality and perfomance of the works carried out.

As the only public swimming pool in the area, MACPool is a vital community resurce. Improving our energy efficiency will help secure its future, reduce running costs and demonstrate leadership in climate action with a rural community.

This project is a vital step in MACPool's journey to becoming a Net Zero, energy efficient community facility. By investing in sustainable infrastructure, we will safeguard the pool's furture, reduce enviromental impact and streghten our communities partnerships.
