Bogleha’ Bowling Club, Dunoon are an inclusive Lawn Bowls Club open to people of all ages and abilities. We are aiming to improve the bowling green surface to allow the Club to maintain its reputation

1.Club aims to replace the turf and wooden  edges around of the green, replace existing rotten timber with recycled plastic lumber, replace worn turf and top dress the area.  This will enable Bogleha’ to continue to maintain membership and attract visitors to play at the Club.

2. Why is your project needed?

Bogleha’ BC (established 1923) comprises of a Lawn Bowling Green with Club House, kitchen facilities and Bar. Bogleha’ Bowling Club is a Member Club and operates under the rules and guidelines of ‘Bowls Scotland’ - the National Governing Lawn Bowling Body

As Bogleha’ is a registered sports Club – its main aim is to promote is Bowls in a safe environment. The committee has a responsibility to maintain the assets AND protect the players from harm- in particular the Bowling Green which must conform to National Rules and   Boundaries must be in a safe condition  and the Lawn should level.  In order to conform, maintenance work requires to be done as outlined below.

The subject of this application is to replace the worn/dead Grass, on the Bowling green and also replace the existing rotten timber lawn edging with recycled plastic lumber  -which will last a lifetime-

In addition to being a good bowling green, Bogleha offers the use of its Clubhouse to various Clubs and charities.  The bowling green and the Clubhouse are inter-dependent, without one the other would not exist.
