Sunday Funday has been well attended and hugely successful since its establishment in April 2024. We wish for the club to continue supporting ASN (additional support needs) children and their families as there is no other similair opportunity in the Helensburgh and Lomond area. This club provides a safe inclusive space for the children, we offer free play, sensory activities, arts and crafts, a bouncy castle platform and a quiet space with dark out tents and lights for children requiring a quieter setting. Informal emotional support for parents is also vital and has naturally formed at the club breaking isolation and allowing parents to share their experiences and knowledge. This project has no end date and has consistently run on a fortnightly basis at Centre 81. Centre 81 provide premises for a fee and the Helensburgh and Lomond carers centre have been very supportive by way of providing a worker contributing to our volunteer pool.
The club is by donation only with no formal financial contributors. The club resulted from Parents for Change action (parent/carer led formally constituted community group).
