We want to replace: All the fitness machines in the gym with modern day equivalent, changing cubicles, lockers & showers in main swim pool/sauna changing areas, sauna cabin, automatic doors open/closers on entrance door sets, all basin taps, hair dryer & spin dryer, internal/external; decoration, swim pool cover, pool side storage, water sports equipment, IT hardware, exterior signage outwith Bowmore village, new ventilation supply for gym, new swim pool hoover, automatic chemical dosing machine for swim pool, variable speed drives for swim pool electric motors, water pressure booster pump set & swim pool plant valves.
Why needed: Certain areas of the building are looking very tired & worn for example the main swim pool changing room with lockers/cubicle doors not working, broken benches & unreliable showers. The fitness machines are very old. Some equipment is reaching the end of its useful life, unreliable & breaking downcausing operational issues & increased maintenance costs. This has resulted in less people using the centre's facilities & for those that do a poor user experience.
Positive changes: Improved quality public services & facility for local community & visitors. An improved user experience resulting in more people using the leisure centre again. Improved health & well being of the community. Less breakdowns & reduced repair & maintenance costs.
